Fully equipped with redundant systems for extended periods at sea. Don’t be fooled by her 38′ designation as her LOA is 46’3″, 26,000 pound displacement and full keel are suitable for long distance exploration. This beautiful classic world cruiser has sailed from Washington State through the Panama Canal, over to Europe, back to the islands and up the US East Coast prior to her most recent refit. Her Cutter Ketch rig offers offers a myriad of sail configurations for all conditions. She has both electric and backup manual watermakers, windvane self steering and a traditional autopilot, provisions for ondeck storage of fuel, water and LPG, as well as required safety equipment including a six man life raft, epirb, and a personal location beacon (PLB).
She has been repowered with a 53HP Kobata Phaser engine with only 1,150 hours.
The interior features a traditional salon with opposing settees, dining table, pilot berth, full galley with refrigeration, forward stateroom, enclosed head and navigation area.
The mizzen mounted silent wind generator and bimini mounted rigid glass solar panels will provide plenty of power for the Firefly batteries.
If your looking to cross oceans, while skipping the tedious and expensive refit process this boat is a must see! An April 2024 survey is available upon request for inspection and a You Tube video is also available

PREVIOUS OWNERS COMMENTS
“Selchie” has been a lucky boat. She was completely rebuilt over 14 years from previous owner as a project of love. When I bought her she was without offshore gear. I outfitted her with top quality gear suited for offshore. She has everything you need to go out the gate with spares. New boat, new gear. Great opportunity to get into offshore ready and capable without having to do upgrades. Easy to single-hand and comfortable in heavy seas. Systems and gear all with a focus on redundancy, quality and safety. All that being said, She has a beautiful lines and gets compliments at every port. Our Adventures: “Selchie” and I have had many adventures over the last few years. I was lucky to find her in Gig Harbor from a gentleman who had worked on her for over 13 years. She had been completely rebuilt from the keel to the masthead, with a completely reworked rig, new engine transmission, driveline, tanks, plumbing, electrical, and a bright interior finish. Unfortunately, he contracted terminal cancer and needed to sell before he had a chance to use her. Her being newly rebuilt, she had no gear. So I spent about a six months fitting her out with all the gear needed for extended offshore sailing. She is refreshed with great gear and ready for many adventures to come. We started the journey in the Pacific Northwest, hopped down the coast through Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, mainland Ecuador, the Galápagos Islands. Then up through the Panama Canal, Jamaica, the Caribbean islands, South Carolina before hopping over to Bermuda, Azores, then over to Spain. I then returned to the states via the Canary Islands, and back through the Caribbean, hitting the islands I missed the first time through. I finished up the dream in Florida, though knowing she would be more appreciated for her offshore abilities in Annapolis, I headed north. As you can imagine, we encountered all states of sea and weather. I have always felt confident in her abilities, even when I questioned my own. Her being heavy displacement, full keel, and so many sail combinations with her ketch rig, she always had a configuration for ever sea state. She is perfectly balanced with mizzen and genoa sails, and can be managed safely from the cockpit singlehanded.
